ECA:
The Ethiopian Community Association of BC is a non-profit organization that is established to preserve and promote the 3000 years of Ethiopian cultural heritage, thereby contributing to the cultural Mosaic of Canada. In addition, ECA is engaged in community and youth empowerment programs that would foster a strong and vibrant community.
MISSION:
Cherishing the rich diversity of our community and unite in the knowledge and understanding of our culture.
GOALS:
OBJECTIVE:
The clear objective for ECA is to establish “Ethiopian House”. Ethiopian House will be a gathering place for everyone in the Community. Ethiopian House will be a comfortable, fun, educational, safe, attractive, accessible facility designed for all ages. It would provide a variety of programs throughout the week. These activities will be designed to create a feeling of belonging; giving pride to Ethiopians living in Metro Vancouver as active participants of the cultural mosaic of Canada.
ECA would use the facility to provide regular recreational and cultural activities to the youth, from grade school, middle school, and high school ages. In addition, we will have adult recreational and cultural programs. We will also provide health education and other related services to children and adults.
